Adarsh Gram Bal Mandir Lunwa Nagour

Going back to school after 15 years may seem intimidating to a lot of people. Most likely, the majority of the students in your classes will be half your age. But older students are becoming more common in the college classroom due to advances in technology, more frequent career changes and the weakened economy, which has created a job market that demands college degrees for better-paying positions. There are a number of things you can do to make the transition back to student life much easier.
Being out of school for 15 years is a long time and most returning students in their 30s and 40s will undoubtedly have questions and concerns. Having a clear understanding of the system and knowing what classes to take will help you ease back into that classroom desk. The New York Times addresses this very issue, saying: “Anyone who has been out of college for […] 15 years and is thinking of returning to school has important questions to explore before jumping back in. Many colleges have counselors to advise would-be students, often helping on matters like whether to pursue a degree program like an M.B.A. or go for a certificate program, which sometimes requires four, six or eight courses and attests to attaining a specific expertise, like project management”.

Talk To Your Teachers

Talk to your teachers prior to starting class and let them know you are trying to transition back into school after 15 years. Your teachers will find value in the fact that you are bringing some life experience into the classroom. Popular news sources agree that today’s graduate student usually starts an advanced degree between the ages of 24 and 35 and one-quarter start at age 36 or older. U.S. News & World Report praises older students as having “real-world work experience” — an inside view to the job market that younger students will value in the classroom.

Focus On What's Important

It is natural for older students to feel like they are “starting over again” when going back to school. But what you need to do is focus on the fact that you are back in school to advance your opportunities and secure your success. Some argue that the average person can go through as many as seven career changes in their lifetime. Often, a career change will require a graduate degree or a variety of computer and information technology classes. Your perspective can have a positive impact on your mindset. Look at it this way: You are going back to school not because you failed, but because you are investing in your future by climbing the job market ladder.

Online Classes

Distance learning is perhaps the easiest way for most people to go back to school after 15 years. Technology only continues to advance, and as it does, more jobs in the information technology field will continue to open, and more people will be making career changes to find employment in this sector with better pay and job security. There are hundreds of fully accredited online schools that offer degrees in business, information technology and computer sciences. Montgomery College praises online learning as a way to offer convenience, flexibility and more individual attention. If you are working in your current job field and require classes to move into an advanced position, online learning is a popular option.

School-Education

A school (from Greek σχολή (scholē), originally meaning "leisure", and also "that in which leisure is employed", "school"),[1] is an institution designed to allow and encourage students (or "pupils") to learn, under the supervision of teachers. Most countries have systems of formal education, which is commonly compulsory. In these systems, students progress through a series of schools. The names for these schools vary by country (discussed in the Regional section below), but generally include primary school for young children and secondary school for teenagers who have completed primary education.

Schools and their teachers have always been under pressure — for instance, pressure to cover the curriculum, to perform well in comparison to other schools, and to avoid the stigma of being "soft" or "spoiling" toward students. Forms of discipline, such as control over when students will and will not speak, and normalized behaviour, such as raising one's hand to speak, are imposed in the name of greater efficiency. Practitioners of critical pedagogy point out that such disciplinary measures have no positive effect on student learning; indeed, some would argue that disciplinary practices actually detract from learning since they undermine students' individual dignity and sense of self-worth, the latter occupying a more primary role in students' hierarchy of needs.
